THIS IS SUCH A RARE FIND! IT IS AN OLD ANTIQUE METAL SIGN FOR THE BOYE HAND SEWING NEEDLE THAT CAME OFF THE ORIGINAL NEEDLE CASE FROM THE EARLY 1900'S.
This was the front panel or sign for the needle case and it is free standing with the metal at the bottom that makes it stand freely. There are pictures of three children on one end and the woman or mom at the other end. It says, in part, "Perfect Work Requires A Perfect Needle, The "Boye" Hand Sewing Needle is an Easy Sewer. Boye Needles 5 Cents". It also says, "It is pleasant to work with a good Needle" and "Our Mama uses Only the Boye Hand sewn Needles." There is some rust, fading, paint loss, scratches, scrapes and stains, but it is still in good condition for it's age.
Measurements are about 18" by 4 1/2" by 2" deep at the flat bottom piece.
